Located in Hendricks County, Indiana is a town known as Avon. In 2016, Avon had a population of about 17,000 people according to the United States Census Bureau. The area Avon is located in was settled in the early 1800s. By 1868, a United States Postal Service office was opened in a community known as Smootsdale.
